Roger:

Thanks for the comment. My list has been changing from time to time and I haven't updated it as much as I would like. Of course, Aldo Conterno is part of my Top 100. Take a look back at my post from December 19 and you'll see exactly that.

And yes, Giacomo Conterno Barolos are also outstanding!

Ron:
Roagna is a great producer and one who unfortunately is difficult for me to visit while in Piemonte, due to certain factors of my trips. I have had a few of their wines and enjoyed them very much. If I can taste more, I'm certain I'd write about them and perhaps rank them in the Top 100.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Tom, As you will have noted in one of my comments to one of your blogs. I am an expat living in Ravenna, Italy (Romagna) for over 10 years now. Have you ever been able to visit GiovinBacco (La Festa del Sangiovese) in Ravenna? If not, maybe you could make it over next year. GiovinBacco takes place around the first week of November. Would be a great way to get to know producers of Sangiovese in Romagna.

As far as the comment above about producers doing more to publicize their wines, the same is true for Romagna. Nonetheless, there are some really good wines made from 100% Sangiovese (not only) in our area (Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore and Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva).
